Users can do actions like creating a page or Post, adjust and create menu’s or change the footer. Depending on which role the user has changes the options of what he/she can or cannot do on the site. Below here is the list of different roles:

  • Administrator: The highest level of permission. like adjusting settings and installing plugins.
  • Editor: Has access to all posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags, and can upload media.
  • Author: Can write, upload media, edit, and publish their own posts.
  • Contributor: Has no publishing or uploading capability but can write and edit their own posts until they are published.
  • Subscriber: Viewers can read and comment on posts and pages on private sites.

Where do you find the users?

In the menu on the left side, if you are logged in on the back of the site, you see the option Users. If you want to add or change the role of users then you have to do that here.

If users have a profile, which might be displayed on the site, then this is usually also the place where this can be changed.
